Design & Display
Premium Design
Large Display Size

It's is really difficult to differentiate Infinix S4 from other premium smartphones, it had a glossy gradient at the back which looks cool. The glossy back make you think it is made of glass, if that was your first impression, you were wrong. It is made up of plastic. It has a rear fingerprint scanner, it seems a bit difficult to use. It requires you to wipe it over and over again. We recommend you use a case so it will become easier. Not to talk of how easy the glossy back might have scratches, we strongly recommend a case immediately you're leaving the store.

It comes in three colors which includes: Space Gray, Twilight Purple, and Nebula Blue.

The large display is something to get amazed by, it has a waterdrop notch and fewer bezels. Even though it has a large display it is still easy and comfortable to hold. It weighs 154g which isn't heavy. Infinix S4 power button and volume keys are placed on the right while the SIM trays lie on the left. The triple camera setup is an attention grabber because it's really rear for a low budget smartphone, below the triple rear camera setup, you'll find a quad-LED flash. Next, to the camera, you'll find the fingerprint scanner which isn't difficult to reach.  You don't have to stretch your hands in order to use it. The loudspeaker, micro USB port, and 3.5mm headphone jack are placed at the bottom. It automatically means there's nothing on Infinix S4 top.

Infinix S4 has a display size of 6.21-inch HD+, which comes with a resolution of 720 x 1520. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 82%, with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. It also has 271ppi, due to its large screen, it has a decent display.

Infinix S4 display is vibrant, bright and colorful enough to enjoy. The content appears legible enough. This phone was literally made for gamers and movie freaks, the movie appears at the highest quality, 3D games show up well. The display color affects the eyes due to its brightness, we recommend you tweak the settings or make use of Dark Modes. Infinix S4 also comes with eye care feature which helps know reducing eye strain by filtering blue light.

Camera
Decent Image Quality
AI Enhanced

Infinix S4 comes with three rear cameras which is a bit rare for mid-tier smartphones. It comes with a primary sensor of 13MP having an aperture of f/1.8, a wide-angle sensor of 18MP which has a degree field of 120 degrees, lastly a depth sensor of 2MP.  It is also supported by a quad-LED flash. The selfie camera boast 32MP with an aperture if f/2.0, it also has a common feature the rear camera, which is a screen flash.

The camera detects what's it face easily, thanks to the AI feature which made this possible. You don't have to worry about enabling the AI Camera, it is enabled by default. The camera app has a quick and simple interface which even a lame man would understand. It has Camera modes like AR Shot, Bokeh, Video and Beauty which enhances your face and removes blemishes.

Daylight photo was perfect, during the test we also tried using the focus but it was a bit slower than we expected. It doesn't lock focus quickly which means the images would be a little bit exposed. The photos were decently detailed. The photo quality was perfect, this is possible due to the way it differentiates a subject from its background.

Portrait photos were also nice, it allows you to tweak the blur feature. The edge detection was below par, we honestly wanted something better.

Just as other low-budget smartphones they tend to struggle under low-light, Infinix S4 isn't any different, even from our perspective it was even worse. The images weren't sharp, it has grains.

Selfies were the only encouraging part of Infinix S4 Camera, thanks to the HDR. The selfie camera allows face detection which makes it possible for the images to get the right exposure before the shutter is clicked.

Video recording was also decent, it records at 1080p with good stabilization, but it was a bit shaky.

Battery
Large Battery Capacity

Infinix S4 comes with a battery capacity of 4000mAh which has the ability to last all day long under heavy usage not to even talk of average use. During our test we tried surfing the internet for some hours, using social media, played 3D games and took some selfies for about five hours in total, the battery dropped 45%. We also tried charging the smartphone, it took 2hours 30 minutes to completely charge from 0% to 100%.

Due to the XOS, it doesn't look like the stock version of Android. It has lots of themes you can choose from if you ain't satisfied with the ones where you can download from the Theme app which is pre-installed. There's also more pre-installed app apart from the Google app pack it also comes with PHX browser which we recommend you uninstall due to its annoying notifications. You can also disable it by reading this article - "How To Disable Notifications On Android".

It has couples of gestures and shortcuts which is powered by a smart panel. It IVB which is Intelligent Voice Broadcast read out your task or schedule for the day an update such as a message from Facebook, WhatsApp, and weather. The sad thing is that we couldn't change the voice nor the language.

Infinix S4 performance is supported by Helio P22. It User Experience was decent. 3D games were a bit slow, it ran PUGB Mobile at the low preset. We also notice lagging. It also has an octa-core of 2.0GHz Cortex-A53.
